Do you pull the tranny out of the truck like the other Trans Go kits? That can make trans go a little expensive.

the trans is pulled for two reasons when the shift kit is installed;a .060 hole is cross drilled in the pump to leak line pressure into the lube passage(torque converter and cooler line passage).this give the torque converter an extra charge resulting in 10% more lowrange and midrange torque.it makes a seat of the pants difference.it also increases the oil flow through your cooler lines by 200%.we also open up the lock up passage to give better clamping power to the converter clutch.on 4R100s,it alows us to install the TransGo lock up valve which converts that system to an on and off system.as it is now,all 4R100s use a pulse on pulse off(which means it slips the clutch on and off)not good for towing.the rest of the kit installs from the bottom and is very beneficial for longevety.pulling the trans and doing it right will give you a performance upgrade you can really feel.

Mike,

Know what the pricing details are? Does this replace old shift kits or is it an additional model?

i dont know the price yet,i got two kits UPS with no bill(Suncoast and BTS,eat your harts out.LOL)the new kit has more valves to compensate pulling the trans in manual low.we in the trans business always thought pulling a trans lever down to L(low)meant increase pressure.not so with Ford.pulling down to L in many 4R100s brings trans mainline pressure to 37lb.you dont want to hook up to anything big the new kit fixes these problems, also helps PSDs with exhaust brake which can grenade a trans quick.i would think that the kit will go for 150.00 retail(there is no price yet).you are paying for some very high tech,i was not involved with this development, but was privy to the development of it as were Suncoast and BTS,and i hold these two establishments in the highest regard.i use Suncoast converters in my shop

i know what you are saying.i have had the same problem sending my customers to good mechanics that wont just throw money at the problem at the customers expense.seems the basic idea of most techs (i use that word lightly) is if we replace everything under the hood,it should work.most problems we have found is bad ground to the computer,or intermittant loss of 12V to trans because the trans shares its voltage with a bunch of stuff under the dash board.
i think i am ranting,have to stop this,sorry

sorry i missed the second part of your question.the new kit is an updated version of the old one.it was developed for the diesel with exhaust brakes and is very beneficial to all E40Ds and 4R100s
