In the past couple weeks the versatility of my X has really come through. The vehicle has more than paid for itself with the amount of things I'm able to do with it.

2 weeks ago, it hauled 3 of us and our gear out to Dearborn, MI for the Ford Centennial Celebration and averaged 19 MPG. I saw the trip odometer roll over 800 miles on a single tank of diesel.

My wife and I are building a new home and I'm doing all of the low-voltage wiring in our house. This past weekend, I had several spools of cable in the back -- I ended up doing some contract work on Fri/Sat helping program a phone system this weekend. I filled the tank, loaded up the phone equipment, my gear, another guy's gear, and headed out on a 5-hour drive to Sioux City, Iowa where the install was located. While there, we removed a bunch of equipment, loaded it all up into the X. We made a few trips back and forth between locations for the company we were installing the phone system in, I was able to haul 3 of us and all of the equipment with ease.

On the way back, I had more equipment than I came with and still had the entire wiring for my house in the "way" back. Didn't have to fill up the tank, the X made it back on the return trip for another 5 hours of driving.

I dropped most of the equipment off and then borrowed a ladder from the guy's business that I was helping out with the phone install, simply folded down the middle seats and snaked the ladder in the truck and proceeded to carry my cable, tools, and ladder to our new home for wiring all day Sunday.

The work week came around and I'm still toting this equipment around...it's not an inconvenience at all, either. These vehicles are wonderful, I only wish I could afford a few more.

I'm coming up on 84,000 miles and have several more trips planned this year. I'll easily be at 100,000 miles before winter!!!
