I would rather have one air filter with a larger intake tube than 2 filters with 2 smaller tubes. Still the same amount of air going in if your overal diameters are the same. They don't really explain why it offers improved performance. Seems like a bit of a "ricey" mod to me...more (air filters) doesn't always mean better...know what I mean?

I'm sure it actually does improve the figures a bit because the factory has quite a bit of necking down in the intake pipe. That and by the look of it (hard to say without actually measuring the thing) each of those pipes may be about the same diameter of a stock pipe. So, in theory, more air can get to the engine hence more power "possible".

Then we have to look at other aspects of the setup. Where's the air coming from? A hot engine compartment. That's going to cost in the HP department. Is it enough to offset the gains made by the dual tube? Dunno. However, what does it matter? is all of this extra capacity going to help you out if your engine can't utilize it? Kinda like putting a dual Holley 850 double pumper tunnel ram setup on a stock Ford Pinto.

I think the best advantage you could get out of this would be the extra filtration. However, putting two high flow filters will probably filter about as well as one high-quality normal style filter. The higher flow ones tend to let a little bit more go by for the sake of flow. I'm not saying chunks go by but some extra stuff does. So, if you could hook up two good filters you'd get great filtration and probably still have enough flow to show an improvement over stock.....now, to get rid of that nasty hot air problem......
