Never Mind! I found the explaination in the online news. You are right it will take me many hours to upload the photo's and clips again. Some I no longer have and are gone forever. I would be annoyed if it was a free hosting service for me but it is one I paid for. I probably won't bother to upload the photo's again. I don't need any decals.

While I can understand your concern, let me explain a couple things about how this happened.

First, it had nothing to do with being a paying member, non-paying member, or even an administrator. Heck, ALL of my own photos, sounds, and movies are now gone too, so even as co-owner of the site, I fell victim to this accident. There are no provisions in the storage of data on the site that gives additional protection to members, administrators, or owners...much less the standard "registered user."

Second, nothing about $12.99 yearly membership offers backups of posted files.

Third, the SuperFord.org disclaimer states that we are not responsible for data loss. http://www.superford.org/about/disclaimer.php#sforights This is something that you, as a user, agree to each time you post a file and initially when you created an account on the site.

I just want to make you aware that you weren't "buying into" any type of data protection with the yearly subscription...always keep backups.

That said, I hope you do find the time here and there to re-post images. I know lots of people here appreciate what you have done to your Excursion and find it exciting to look through the various stages of its build-up, particularly as you close in on 10,000 miles. I lost over 500 photos and 20+ movies, so the process will be lengthy for me as well. I have yet to post any of my Excursion photos, but I will as time allows. It took me about 1.5 hours to re-upload 80 of my Galaxie photos...mainly because I don't have them as nicely organized on my computer as I do on my SFO account.

The stickers, while trivial, are all that we can offer in an effort to express our apologies.

Relax, I realize all of the things you stated above. Just ranting!!! I've never had this happen before and it had to happen on the one site I had the most pictures on. I've had a chance to cool off and it will give me an excuse to take new pics as well as replace most of the old ones. I've always been a 'Photo Ho' anyway.
