I am a happy Excursion owner in Michigan. We live "up North" in Traverse City. We love our PSD X. I spend most of my forum time at "the diesel stop", but check in here every now and then. I see a few other X owners from MI in the various forums: Motionman from Holland, and 2 guys even farther North than me; one in Mackinaw City and one in Marquette.

Thanks for the reply. There are a few nice x's by me. One is at a custom 4x4 shop. I found a few that i like, just need to decide whether to get a gas or diesel. DO you have a superford page? or pics?

I only see 3/4 X's on a regular basis around here and they all look stock. My friends brother-in-law has one up here I see every now and then with a small lift and I think it is a PSD with propane. I'll have to track him down some day and find out what all he got goin on.

We love our diesel.....gas mileage is pretty good and the towing power will come in handy when we get a boat (hopefully next year).

Yep
I am in the Detroit area.
I have a V10 limited 4WD - pretty much loaded with 35,000 miles.

I am putting it up for sale - - looking for something around $25K

I intend on buying a newer Excursion - - so I obviously like 'em

Greg,

Go with the diesel if/when you buy a new X and sell your Bronco.

Oil changes will run $65-75 every 5,000 miles.

Diesel here in MN is cheaper than 87 octane gasoline, usually by $0.05 or more.

Diesel repairs typically cost more than gas engine repairs...but with a 100,000 mile warranty, you really can't go wrong. There's a $100 deductible on warranty repairs and the 100K warranty is transferable from owner-to-owner.

Gary and Tom,

I'm in Michigan and and just bought a second Excursion. My 2000 has about 65K miles and never regretted getting the V10. On trip to Western UP last week I averaged 14.5 to 15 mpg, only get 10 in stop and go. Modifications to 2K are BFG's, U-code front springs, Edelbrocks. I've had problems only with the cab mounts clunking under drivers floor. We recently traded in a 01 Expedtion on a 03 EB V10 Ex. I drove a 6 liter PSD diesel but stayed away due to all the 1st year problems. I would consider a used 7.3 liter when I decide to sell the 2K, but plan to keep a couple more years. Just saw an add in local paper for a 4wd 7.3l 110K miles for 19K. The deals are out there and you can find an used Excursion cheap in the Detroit area.

Tom, we have a cottage near Mack City and do the trip up 1-75 alot. Can't beat the Excursion for Northern Michigan winters. Will probably be on Woodward next weekend in the 68 Cougar. One of the few sans vinyl roof and with a 4 speed.
