One note of use that I learned in the deserts of SW Asia...if sandstorms are a problem (they actually are here in Idaho) leaving the AC in MAX is a good idea. If you shut it off it opens the fresh air vent. Then, when a sandstorm comes in, it deposits all sorts of crud into your system. When you turn the AC on it blows it all into the cab.
So, leaving it it MAX keeps it out of the system to begin with. However, I agree with what everyone else is saying about condensation and mildew. Leaving it in max is just for certain situations.

So if I'm understanding correctly from everyones experience. Starting your vehicle remotely with either the heat or a/c on doesn't appear to have any adverse effect. |

Correct -- the "start" position on the ignition disables accessories. When the ignition is in the "run" position, accessories turn back on.

I have mixed messages from my truck.
Sometimes I start the truck and I hear a sound, "clump" kinda sound. I'll have to pay more attention if this is when the air is/was on.
At first I thought it was the compressor kicking in, Then thought it was the heater vents moving at once when the manafold vacuum was applied.
My next obversation is when I start the truck and walk in front to open the gate I hear the air kick in maybe 5-10 seconds after the truck starts. There might be a delay?
OK, while I'm asking questions, is there a AC cutout when I put my foot on into hills while towing?
Think to hard, Not getting enough results!
