I am probably going to come out with a new chip (my own design). i like the TTS chip,(makes more power than anyone else). there are things i want to change. Give me some ideas that you people would like in a chip. I will bet nobody ever asked you that before.

Mike,
Sounds cool. I'm not sure what all you can potentially control with a computer chip. Could you throw out a list of things that are managable via a chip that the "other guys" don't deal with? What are some things that you would want to change about the TTS chip?

GREAT idea !!!!
I would want a programmer type - more easily removed/controlled....
More effeciency of the truck via more torque and lower shift points????
Pet peeve of mine is I have a diesel with 8 gazillion lbs of torque and it 'hangs' in gear so much...
shifting around 3K,
when 1800 would be fine for the acceleration I want...
and then it kicks down too easily when cruising!
I would MUCH rather be USING the torque by simulating a 'short shift', if you will....
99% of the time I'm not a WOT,
so why not allow the tranny to short shift thru the gears ???
then the other 1%,
allow WOT to 'hold' the gear as u accelerate for the 15 seconds or so you have a wild hair
woudln't that save the engine, save fuel, be quieter inside the cabin...
All pluses to me...
But would that generate more heat/issues for the tranny ? don't know...
All I know is every manual trans I had over the years,
I would short shift them ALL the time (when not 'racing')
and depending on the conditions,
even known to skip gears since the torque I had would deal with it without a problem....
Good Luck gearman!

My main modification will be the trans part of the program. some people dont even need any change to the trans program. i like to see more pressure rise in general which every body does. its the shift program i dont like in a lot of the chips. as far as using a programmer, i think that would cost too much, and from my experince testing some of them you get short changed on the power, in other words they lie about the power.
