dana 50 is in the front till this yr. then dana 60
On another note Ford's website was showing numbers for the first quarter and the eXcursion was up 33% over last yr. Thats us previous X owners getting the last of a dying breed!!!

A couple years back I spent about $400 (or so) to have new gears installed in the front axle dana 44 on my Bronco. It was a low price because I was able to bring the 3rd member in for them to setup the gears. I also had a lockright locker put in which is a no-brainer to install.
$1500 that you mentioned in a previous post sounds pretty good considering they have to setup the gears with the axles installed on the truck. I assume this price includes all parts.
You can always do just the rear first and not use 4x4 for a while if you cannot afford it all at once. I did this with my Bronco when I swapped out the 8.8" rear for a dana 60. I didn't wheel it for a month and just drove it around town to break in the gears. I upgraded the gears in the frontend about a month later.
