Does anyone have the factory remote start? I want to know the range since I would rather use the factory system since the '04 has the keyless entry option. (an aftermarket would not be compatible) Also, are you happy with the system?

Thanks again!

Thom,

When you say keyless entry, I'm not sure if you mean via a remote or the keypad on the door. I have an aftermarket alarm/remote start on my '00 and my keypad still works without a problem. However, I did go with the alarm/remote start combo to get the convenience of keyless entry and remote start built into one remote control.

I have the Ford Gold Remote Start on my '03 Ex installed by my dealer for the $450-$495 range...
Haven't really measured it, but advertised range is 600'...

And works very well.

I don't believe that any aftermarket alarm/remote start system will work with the keypad on the door - that was what I was referring to.

Thom,

My keypad on the door does work still, but it doesn't disarm my aftermarket alarm system when I use the keypad to unlock the door.
