both the rears are the 40 section of the 60/40 bench setup, with a couple of modifications. for those wanting to upgrade their seats to leather or change the cheap vinyl seats with a few pieces of leather to a real leather seat. just a fyi

Did you do the mods to the seats yourself? Did you replace the bench seat or did they come with the truck and you are making the point that these seats are the same as the 40 section with a few mods?

In this picture you might see a little something that really doesn't make sense

Here is a clue, try reading the dimmed out display and look at the small push button under it on the display itself. It is a prototype of a Western Diesel Quad Power chip readout that I designed!

Basically, I didn't like the knob that came with it so I put a display/switch together that gives you the readout of what position you are in. for instance, when you first power up your vehicle, it is in the factory setting, just push the buttons and you can toggle through, economy, towing, and RACING. I like the word racing because I couldn't fit BALLS TO THE WALL in the display, and back to factory. Another feature I incorporated is that if you add a pinswitch to the trailer hitch and run a ground up to the unit, everytime you have something on the hitch it will automatically put you in towing mode. However you can just push the toggle button to overide it and get you back into the economy, racing, or factory mode.

Buy the way this is a secret and you didn't hear it from me (or read it)

Also the other gauges in the center console are the boost, trans temp, EGT, and air PSI for the rear air bags. (it's a lowered 4 X 4 )

Till next time

That is damn cool. Nice integration of the flip-chip. Makes it seem like a part of the vehicle rather than an aftermarket add-on. That center console is sweet looking as well.

I can't tell in the pics...what's going inside the center console under the sliding lid?

Nice work!!!

Thanks Eric, I was hoping you would like. Under the sliding brushed aluminum tambour door is the switches for the door locks, windows, 4X4, defrost, park aid, pedal adjustment, mirror adjustment, air bag switch to raise and lower the vehicle, video source selector, k-40 radar detector/laser difuser, sub woofer volume control, dimmer for the digital gauges, memory seats, a few others I can't remember, and a "winter" switch. The winter switch is for when the clifford matrix rsx3.5 security/remote start/pager combo is remote started, the winter mode sends a ground pulse to the rear defroster, and the driver/passenger heated seats.

there is more to come for some cool little features we are going to add. By the way we are outfitting the "X" with a KVH direct tv satelite dish. (300 channels) www.kvh.com I wonder how many XXX? . The list has grown crazily, tomorrow the new leather goes in the front, the air bag covers go back on...

What a fun project...good ideas, too. I would love if I had a "winter" mode on my X so that when I remoted started it, it'd fire up front and rear fans, rear defrost & heated mirrors, and of course the seat warmers. Does it have autopilot so that it'll drive you to work all by yourself, too???
