I have noticed three times in the last 2 weeks that my oil light comes on and the truck doesn't read any oil presure at all! The moter isn't making any funny sounds and if I give it a little gas the gauge reads ok. I just changed my oil(mobil 1 5w30) and it still does it! Has any one had this problem? when I take it back to the dealer will they balk at the snytheic oil?

Nah... only about 8 inches of so. Just a nuisance.

I do not mind the snow too much. I've got a John Deere lawn tractor with a 42" snow blower strapped to the front! Let it snow!!!!

But then again....this time of the year I do begin to tire of it.... Oh where oh where is spring?

BTW, I think your oil pump is starting to poop out.

Yeah, get that baby in.

If it was a PSD, you wouldn't be able to drive it without oil pressure. A somewhat helpful feature but regardless, avoid driving yours at all costs. Are you getting it towed in?

Don't worry about the synthetic oil.

I started it today and it did the same thing but, I watched and listened very closely with a mechanic freind. It did not make any funny noises after the first start up clatter. If you revved it up a little the gauge would jump up to the normal operating level. We think the sending unit may be acting up but I will send it to the dealer any way Monday.

It got up to a balmy 30 degree's today so I started on the MOD'S list. I put the Rancho 9000x's on, took about 45 minutes for all four and it really wasn't that cold out! I took them out for a test drive after the oil check and #1 setting felt like a beached whale wiggling. I bumped them up to #3 setting and it felt tight but responsive. Tomorrow calls for 32 and midnight snow so I might install the Hellwig since the blanket is already salty from the driveway.

How long should it take me to install it with hand tools.

It shouldn't take you more than two hours. You'll love the difference!!

I am not familiar with what the normal oil spec's are on the v10 but if you are running a thiner oil for the winter it might cause the gage to be a bit eratic, especialy when its cold. BUT, Get it checked. Just cuz its not making noise, that don't mean squat.

15/40 for diesel is right but I think he said 15/30 for a 6.8 v10, which is a gasoline engine.
