Guys,
Server weirdness: explained:
When you're seeing the "please create a new message" or a "request for login" message, what it really means is that the database can't keep up with the number of requests to the webserver. The webserver holds up its end of the bargain but the database says, "sorry, no can do" and doesn't feed it any data. So, the webserver thinks that there's no data to be displayed, so it says, "please create a new message" because it doesn't know any better.
So, what does this really mean?
The server is experiencing growing pains. In other words, the server is getting pounded with requests for pages, pictures, content, etc and it can't keep up with demand. It's not a bandwidth issue, it's a hardware issue (not enough processing power, not enough memory, etc.).
When/how will it get fixed?
We are going to be purchasing a new server this week and over the course of the next two weeks, building it, configuring it, and replacing the current server. It will be a significant improvement on all fronts...storage capacity, processing power, and memory. Ultimately, it will fix the issues above with not seeing posts, being asked to log in, etc.
But there are hardly any people posting, why such a problematic server?
