Well I haven't really had a chance yet to get a good figure on my mileage...but then I didn't buy the Excursion because it was an econobox!
Had a E350 15 passenger van with a V10 before this so ANY gas mileage is a step up!
Besides, what good is gas mileage if you never get there? Wintertime in Alaska is notorious for all sorts of vehicle problems and bad driving conditions. So since I live in the biggest state (sorry Texas!) I figured I'd drive the biggest SUV! |

Well, I got back from PA this past weekend, 1st trip since I switched to Royal Purple, and I must say that I am impressed!! I got 14.2 all the way home, 70-75 mph, I did see it as high as 15.1 when I was cruising thru a construction zone @ 50-55 mph....So I guess Im sold on that stuff!!

| Quote: | | 6.3 MPG around town. I am averaging about 10MPG on the freeway at speeds between 55 and 65. The 40's are what is killing me right now. The K&N charger helped out quite a bit when it was installed according to the previous owner. |
Danny, are you figuring in the fact that your speedometer is off by a large amount, like you fill up and get on the hiway and run for 400 miles and then stop and top it off? because on that, your trip meter might show 350 miles, thats a big differance!
It really is all about size!!!!!! |

I just drove from Tallahassee Florida to Atlanta Georgia on Sunday. With an average speed of 82 MPH for the entire drive I average 11.3 miles per gallon. This is with the cruise control.
Other than an vibration (that I have had since new) at 78 MPH to 89 MPH my truck drove perfectly.

My first road trip in the y2kX this weekend from ATL to BooneNC and back got a computer reading of 15.4!! Everything stock. Is there an advantage for the cold air inductions or just a drop in filter?
cheers,

you will be pleasantly surpsied if you get a tuner for your truck....
you'll get more power (which is fun !) AND get better mpg - which is great...
it's not enough bump in mpg to pay for the tuner, but
more power with better mpg ?!?!? a no-brainer...
only issue is
once you tune one of these and get used to the new power, you won't want to go back
