I know ride quality is obviously a personal preference.. I was looking for some of the gang's observations on shock ettings.. My ranchos go on next week and while adjusting isnt a problem, I thought I try and save myself too much trial and error by asking your opinions..

for a comfortable ride about town..not fully loaded, what # setting do you all use?
Do you set rear firmer in relation to the front as a routine?

I will be towing travel trailer that weighs 6400 - 6700 fully loaded with gear and food. The X will have 5 pasengers of adult weight.. and other gear. Any thoughts for good settings when towing?

thanks alot

Bill

I dunno, cant help. but, do recommend the bilstein 5100s i used on my X. I have rs9000s on my bronco, to keep it stable on the freeways without swaybars, and loose when i am 4 wheelin. I go from 1 to 9, never stopped in the middle

Bill,

Setting #2 in front, setting #3 in the rear on my X. Haven't adjusted them since installing, however I don't tow anything...it's just my daily driver. Works well for city driving and has the best feel on the highway with these settings, IMHO.

Enjoy the new shocks!!

I've had my rancho 9000's on for about 2 weeks now and had them on 9 the first few days (the installer must have be a REAL hard AS_ )
but I quickly reset them to 3 all around...
but have not settled on my final adjustment yet...
just may get the in truck adjusters - just for the want of it
not that I NEED it

Now keep in mind I have dual RS9000 on my front with 37" SSR's and 9" worth of suspension lift. I seem to have to keep the front around 5 because anything less temds to make my tires wear crappy. The ride definately seemed better around 2 or 3 though in the front and 2 in the rear unloaded. With my 24ft box trailer with car in it.... I would run 6 in the rear and 5 in the front. I have had mine on for almost 8 months now and have tried just about every setting combination. Like you said though user preference so good luck.

went on a all interstate trip last week...
and since not towing, set them on 1 for the cadillac ride...

REALLY made it a smooth run
