i love it just ridding around the country back roads it was getting about 18 mpg but in the city and on the hwy it is getting 14mpg. Picked it up in south MS with 13,600 miles on it for 19,500.00. I got it to tow my Jeep around the country to have fun. |

Congratulations, Ben, and welcome to the site. I have been very pleased with my 2000 X. It hauls my three kids around and has been a very reliable vehicle. No complaints here.
I do not want to burst your bubble, but your mileage figures are, um, optimistic. The overhead computer is sometimes a little off. Try hand calculating next time you fill up and let us know what you are getting.

Nah...
Sounds right, Rick.
COUNTRY roads. Talkin' speeds of around 40-50. You can push 18 at those speeds in OD.

| Hmmm, perhaps if you are going down hill with 145 psi in your tires and a 70 mph tailwind! Actually, I suppose you could be getting 18 mpg at that exact moment (40-50 mph in OD), but I'm talking about total mpg. A recent road trip consisting entirely of relatively flat and straight interstate travel at an average speed of 65 mph got me 14.2. Maybe I should lay off the break-neck speed!
