between brake rotors (warping), lock actuators(NOT WORKING), shocks (failing), suspension wandering(need radius rods),back-up sensors (blowing), gas prices (v-10), and the wife misses the front bench seat.(i haven't even tried the 4wd yet for problems). i'm thinking of looking for a 3/4 ton burb. can anyone come up with some positives about the X that won't be filled with the burb? |

I've always been a fan of the Ford interior over the Chevy interior when it comes to the trucks/SUVs.
Like LANDYOT said, massive capacity with the X. The Burb is smaller and that is definitely not COOL. I'm sure your wife will buy-in completely to that statement.

I will tell you a benefit of the Excursion. Granted I only have 10K miles on my 2004 limited and no problems, my 1999 K2500 suburban with 148K miles is on its second engine, third transmission, second transfer case, 12 sets of brakes, fourth alternator, third starter, second fuel pump, and has had its air conditioning rebuilt. I tow a 5500 lb trailer (specs say it can tow 8300 lbs) The transfer case put me out of commission for 14 weeks because they do not make the part anymore. That is all I can think of off the top of my head.
My buddy has a 2003 suburban and its transmission failed at 29K (warranty) and some other minor problems.
Hope that helps! |

Welllll.. lesssseeee. The cruise control does a better job than the burbs.
And the Ex drives like something worth driving without feeling like a boat.
And I like it.

I had a 97 suburban, it had its share of problems ( they all have some problems, GM FORD DODGE), but IMHO the Excursion has had the least problems.
When I had the suburban I never felt quite comfortable, always a little uneasy when towing or traveling fully loaded.
If you have ever overloaded your pickup with just a little to much dirt (or whatever) and the back end is sagging, the front end is ridding high and the steering is floating. You know the feeling. Your driving cautiously and braking early hopeful you will get home without an accident. That is how the suburban felt, when loaded, to me.
Taking off to go fishing with five of my friends ( all are 225+ guys) fully loaded, towing a boat, rolling down the road 75 mph, and I don't even think about the X being able to handle it.
