I just bouth a used 2002 X and it was from the Infiniti dealers used lot. I don't know the keycode and have seached the entire forum on hints on it but nobody has exactly pin pointed where the factory hides the keycode within the vehicle. I searched the entire internet and found a lot of info on Explorers, Winstar, etc.... but nothing on the X. I did check behind the glove box but I didn't see anything too obvious about a code. I also searched/checked in the spare compartment in the back with the jack and no luck. Has anyone ever found this hidden location? Since I didn't buy from a Ford dealer and I am out of warranty I have a feeling I will have to pay for them to retrive it.
Also has anyone ever seen any places selling the remote for the DVD system? It didn't come with the vehicle...
Thanks...

I had same problem. Heard of two places to look and did not find it in either. I ended up going to dealer and they pulled it for $33.50 which was listed as half hour labor. Wish I could help more.

Check in the owners manual...most dealers will write it on the inside of the manual. If its not there, check under the hood....on the fanshroud or the belt diagram sometimes they write it on there. If not then sadly you will have to goto the dealer and have them pull it. I also bought my Ex used and had to spend the 50.00 to have the codes and new key made....Not sure about the DVD remote. Probably the same boat...unless you could get a universal remote to work, but if its a Ford system, you might have to get another from the dealer!!
Hope this helps!

I was told that it was on a sticker on a computer pu behind the center of the dash, but I gouldn't find it there. I ended up paying #37 to the dealer for mine. Good luck!

My local Ford Dealer (who I did not buy the truck from) but I bought my 1998 Expedition from and lots of parts helped me out. The dealer usually charges 1/2 - 1 hour labor. So when I had it it to check out the brakes, I asked him nicely if he would pull the code from the computer and write it on my receipt, He did, for no charge. They use to put it on the computer and a couple other places, I don't think they do that anymore.
