Just wanted to introduce myself; I just picked up a 2004 4x4 Ltd Excursion, and am trying to get up to speed on what mods work best for this truck.

My mods in the next few months will include: (feel free to offer advice on any and all)

4" lift (help...which one?)
35s on 17X9s
Light bar
Banks Power Pack
and for the kids;
Moble DVD/Xbox with 7" screens in the back of each seat.

Any advice on vendors and/or shops in my local area would be great!

Thanks
Joe

Welcome,

The Bank's Power Pack is perfect for towing! But, If you are looking for performance, There are many things you can do better for less money. Banks 4" Exhaust is best quality, You already have a good intake, Need to add pyro & Boost guage (unless factory boost guage is accurate-doubt it is) Superchips programmer. These things will bring truck to 400+hp.

I think he's got a V10 in his X...at least according to his registry entry.

Joe, the Banks setup will be a good addition. You may want to consider a supercharger if you want/need the power. MrRottndog on these forums has a Kenne Bell supercharger in his V10 Excursion: http://www.fordexcursions.com/registry/vehicles/detail.php?id=629

We can make vendor recommendations for your purchases when you get closer to deciding which brand you want for the various items listed.

Welcome to the site! Nice M3!

Yeah, sorry that I failed to mention what motor I am running.

V10 with 3.73 gears ( I didnt get the big tow mirrors, so Im assuming it doesnt have the heavy duty tow package)

Joe,

It'll have the same tow package and towing capabilities. The mirrors are simply an option at initial purchase. A friend of mine who tows a lot doesn't like the big tow mirrors, so he didn't get them on his F350. It's more personal preference at time of purchase.

You do have the option of installing the tow mirrors should you ever want to replace the mirrors you have.

Kenne bell has a 6.8 supercharger for around $4,000.00 plus install. MrRottendog on this site has one on his lifted X.
