I have a 2003 excursion with 30.000 miles on it.
Does it pay to nuy an extended warrenty?
What do you'll think?
Thanks

Considering the cost of these vehicles and the price of labor alone, I think it's worth it. I had an extended warranty for my '00 and never made a significant claim against it, but the peace of mind was worth it in my opinion. Should something major go wrong with your Excursion, a $100 deductible and a rental car allowance is certainly much easier to stomach than several thousand of dollars out of your pocket that you weren't planning on spending.
While I was running on a chip in my Excursion, my trans died at 87,000 miles. Had I removed the chip prior to bringing it into the dealership, my trans would have been covered under warranty. Instead, Ford denied the warranty of the trans repair after finding the installed chip, and I was stuck with a $3,000 bill. If you do make any claim against warranty, make sure to bring your X to the dealership in stock form, or very close to it to avoid them denying covereage for aftermarket modifications.

I had a warranty on my ex thru a Pennsylvania company called C.A.R.S. .
On Ball joints they paid $250.00 on a $1200.00 bill
Recently my ex blew a plug and part of it fell in the cylinder and scored it. They did not authorize a repair for 10 days, when I decided to trade the ex on a new one they have denied the claim and told me to contact their legal department.
Mt experience has been bad, they want to use cheap or used parts, pay a low rate of labor and not cover a major claim.
Beware.

I too have the extended warranty and it paid for itself already!!! I got 1 new front driveshaft(slip yoke froze up) 2 new hubs ( selector froze up also). $1000 with out the warranty. I think they are worth it.
