Also, when I view unread posts, it looks like the number of unread posts in each topic is incorrect. Actually, it looks like it is summing the unreads as it lists each topic.

Now... am I overlooking the "Mark all Read" action button ?
Where I could mark all the posts in a forum read to keep the "new" count clean for when I come back in (even though I may not have read that thread ??? )

This was (and still is) always available after you selected the View all unread posts, posts in last 24/48/72 hours links. You bring up an interesting point, sometimes you want to mark a topic "read" when you're just browsing. We'll get this functionality added today as well.

is it possible to put the "new post" count at the forum level > on the main page so we know if we should even go into say the classifieds section to see if there is a new post ????
or does the show new post cover that option?
