OK Guys.....heres what happened......(2000 Excursion, automatic, V10)

about 3 weeks ago I took my excursion in and had them flush and replace the fluid in the trans. (because the book told me too) no problems afterwards......

Yesterday I take it out. I am doing 55-60 in overdrive and need to speed up to pass someone. I pull over in the left lane and push down on the pedal to speed up. nothing happens.....

I push even farther and I can tell the vehicle is speeding up but it never downshifts. I push the pedal all the way to the floor....still no downshift but we are accelerating. I think is sorta weird so I slow down to 60 and then just punch it. Still no downshift.....but we do accelerate.

any ideas on what I need to check before I go and yell at the mechanics?

My first thought is over/underfilled fluid possibly. Perhaps one of the passages in the valve body is plugged.

Didn't we have a tranny guru on this forum at one time?

Gearman has been MIA from the forum for a while. Haven't talked to him in quite some time, not sure what happened to him! Hopefully his business (Inglewood Transmission) is keeping him really busy.
