I drove a V-8 Touareg recently and was very impressed with it. Very fast and very quick to accelerate. You would expect that from that engine. Oh, it is very cramped in the engine bay. The diesel version is a V-10 but only 5 liters. In one magazine it is rated to have 550 lb.ft. of torque and 310 hp. The magazine also stated that the diesel is faster and quicker than the V-8 gasser. I can't wait to drive one. The big drawback to it for me is that it is too small. For most of what I do, it would be perfect, however, for the times I take my dog or kayaks it is too small.

I've driven a Touareg and it is peppy, but I agree, small. Certainly a different target market than the X...always interesting to drive something else to see how it performs. The turning radius on those short wheelbase vehicles is funny...nothing bad about it, just so much tighter than the X!

The Ford / International relationship can't be all bad because Ford is selling their F350 pickup box to International. International is selling a pickup called the CXT (Commercial Extreme Truck) with the F350 box on the back. It a very cool pickup at a price tag of 100,000.00 dollars base 130,000.00 well equipped. Pick a copy of Truck Trent this month.......

Here's a link to the CXT for those that are interested.

I think the cab is too boxy and the f350 bed is too round, it looks like a redneck put together, and the thing costs way too much, I love the F650 SuperCruiser, now thats a great ride, it uses the SD cab and the SD bed, it just a better fit, and its ALL FORD! gotta love it! and the XUV is cool too with the 6 side doors and dual wheels. thats for me!

It really is all about size!!!!!!

I hear ya, It is costly but, your buying a cement mixer or dump truck with a F350 box on the back. I'd love to drive one but I don't have my airbrakes license.
