Guys--have an 04 Accord(8 mos old)--my wife's of course--have waxed it twice with Meguiars Tech Wax (great stuff if you have not tried it). It stays garaged about 90% of the time. Some tree droppings or something got on it--just like my X. On the X, it cleans right off. On the rice burner, it will not. Upon closer examination with high power loupes, it is evident that the clear coat as perforations in it. Multiple other areas on hood and top are affected but the worst is a streak across the trunk. The dealer basically told me they would noy pay for it as well as Rahife, the factory rep. I find no logical reason for clearcoat to fail in this manner unless it was too thin or there were contaminants underneath. My Ford body shop looked at it first (wanted an impartial opinion) and they said it sure looked like a warranty issue to them. Anyway--any suggestions?????
Thanks! |

I've had my X into two different body repair shops due to other people running into my X while parked. Have had the rear quarters on both sides of the X repaired and repainted...each by a different shop. The clearcoat is noticeably different on both sides compared to the factory clearcote. Wonder if there's some secret sauce they're using on the assembly line???
