I bought the lower (160k) miles X.

Toreador red, XLT, clean, straight. Had Apple Valley Ford do a 115 point inspection - has lots of new front end components, trans has been replaced at 95k miles, everything works, tires are Michelin XLT with about 25k miles left, but all 4 shocks are leaking, so I ordered out 4 Edelbrocks.

Has anyone installed the Factory Tech Modified Valve Body on their diesel X? Does it really improve shifting (eliminate sloppiness)? Seems like a decent price for a great mod.

Thanks a bunch for all your comments & advice. I love my X!!!

Congrats on the new purchase! You will love it. Of course, we expect to see pics up in your registry entry ASAP.

birdman127, one of the moderators here, recently installed the Factory Tech valve body. Here's his post: http://www.fordexcursions.com/forums/posts.php?threadid=4166

He should be doing an install article soon, too *cough* *cough*.

OK, took some pics today, cloudy, overcast, but came out alright. Check 'em out in my album, let me know what you think. Paid $16,500 for the big lady - I'm grinnin'.

New Edelbrock shocks will be in Tuesday, thinking about a set of SP Performance cross-drilled & slotted rotors with Performance Friction Z-rated pads. A bit spendy, but front rotors are warped (rears may be as well), all, pads have about 5/32" left. Anyone have experience with these?

That Factory Tech valve body mod looks REAL good, especially after birdman's post! Ahh, it's only money. Anyway, I've always had a 'thing' for redheads.....
