That's the exact same unit I have. But with a price of $107, I'd suspect it's not already painted to match. When I ordered mine, I provided my paint code, and got a matching pre-painted deflector. Like I said before, they do little other than provide some shade for the 3rd brakelight.
Wait a sec ... I went back and looked at that Ford link again, and it says "smoked acrylic" deflector. While it's the exact same shape as mine, mine was made of fiberglass with brass threaded inserts ... and it came with excellent installation instructions, including templates on where to drill the mounting holes in the fiberglass upper portion of your liftgate. |

Thanks Landyot!
I don't want to drill holes and you would think with that design, that it would remove the vacuum behind the truck by flowing air down toward the ground and keep the dust off.
Since this does not work, I can find better places to throw away my money especially with college tuition for my young'en!
It does look good in that pic, even the smoke looks good and I thought it would have matched the front bug deflector and window shields, all in smoke.
My mixed emotions are now settled. |

Well fellas, I bought it--looked at it--still am looking at it and having a hard time thinking of drilling holes. Also with the additional proviso--"avoid automated brush car washes". The HELL you say! Some times a guy has to drive in and had his car luxuriously bathed in recyled water, coated with rainbox wax and clearcoat sealer and detailed in and out. Anything less would be uncivilized.(Course I always re-wax the hood with Meguiars Tech wax every month or so--would do the top that often but its a oain as you know to get to) If anyone wants one, I can make you a deal! |

David, had to laugh at that!! I can count, on one hand, the number of times I've washed the roof of the X in the 4+ years I've owned it. NOT FUN. Dangerous, too. Trying to balance on the running boards, holding onto the side mirror with one hand, and scrubbing the roof with the other... Only semis can see it anyway!

Aww c'mon guys! Washing the roof is easy, and I do it every time I wash mine. I stand on a 5 or 6 foot ladder beside the X, and use one of those extended wash-brushes (looks like a small push-broom) ... and I can reach the entire roof with only one ladder reposition. That brush also washes the rest of the X, too, since there's so much acreage to cover. |

but "WHY".....Only the truckers can see it any way!!! I wash mine every third wash. Speaking of washing the X, only hand car washes can wash my X. They charge 20-25 for a wash, dry because of the extra real estate. What do they charge around your way of town????

Birdman -- You're going to see a lot of your roof if you intend to use that Yakima roof cage ... or is it a birdcage for the birdman? Anyways, how in the world do you plan to secure things, let alone get them UP in there? I've still got the four Explorer-style crossbars I'm modifying for mine. And I see a lot of my roof. Since it won't fit in the garage, I see it from our 2nd floor windows daily. My car won't fit in the garage when I have all the equipment set up for making radius-rods. Even then, my KLR650 dirt bike is a bit cramped ... in fact, it's spending some time alone out back in the shed. Just had the driveway widened to park three abreast, too. |

I take mine into the touchless, automatic washes without a problem. $7.00 for "The Works."
Those hand-car-washes are $15-$50 depending on what all is done. Don't have any of those by my place, so it's the cheapo automated wash for me.

Too lazy, too big (both me and the Ex
The last two Ex's found a regular car wash here in Arlington, Tx that has a special on Tuesday and Wednesday of $5.00 for exterior wash only....
I get both cars done each week !
