My thoughts from an earlier thread:
I believe Ford views the X as the fat orphan child of their product line up. The lack of product development and marketing the Excursion has received is pathetic. The Excursion has a bad rep and Ford has done nothing to change it. The other proof of this is, go grab any two "Lemon Aid" guides and read about the Excursion. Every year it's the same review....even the same text ....word for word. I'm willing to bet they've never drove an Excursion. I also love how every review of the X is done with the V8 or the V10., never the PSD.
I'll get off my soap box now .....but I'll leave you with this .....I love my FAT ORPHAN child and I'll drive it until the iron diesel engine rusts and falls through the frame rails.

this is the part that gets me, I never see advertisments for the Ex, whats the deal here, does ford wast to not make money off the truck? the H2 is on the TV all the time, and they are selling them, if for would spend some money on this, put up some advertising and show it as a family vehicle that can tow a large traval trailer and then show the powerstoke or the 6.0 and the fuel economy they would have a winning market, over the H2 and the GM line, so its Ford doing this.
It really is all about size!!!!!! |

I can't believe that Ford is getting rid of the Excursion. That's my favorite vehicle! I'm only 17, I won't be able to afford an Excursion for awhile. Now I will have to buy a used one, which will probably havee lots of problems by the time I can afford one, (luckily they will be cheaper by then). This really SUCKS! |

Michael... I feel your pain!
Fear not... my Ex is a Y2K model with just 60k miles that I bought almost two years ago with 45k miles for $23k. Trust me when I tell you that MOST of us here can't (or won't) pay $55k for a new Ex anyway. It killed me to lay out $23k for a car/truck/suv... but it's been worth every cent, and I love the EX!
I've looked at a number of them, new and used since we bought ours. Not much point in switching. I thought the PSD in the '04 with the new trans was pretty slick, but it's not worth $30k difference to trade to me.
Yes, it takes a LOOOOOOONG time to pay off $55k on a CAR!

Thanks Roger that helps, but still, I want an Excursion thats a 2004 Limited fully loaded leather interior 4x4 v-10. I've looked on ebay and other places (too see the price range of a used one) and i havent found the one that i'm looking for. I guess people are too happy with their X's too want to sell them.
But anyways like you said at least it is cheaper. So that raises my spirit, besides the money I save on it will go towards the lift kit that i want. I was going through my housing track and saw this Excursion with 5-5 1/2 foot tires, and i said "thats what i want." I'm 6 foot 1in. and the tires were almost as tall as me! It is probably illegal, but i don't care i just have to have it. That is the ultimate Excursion a.k.a. Bigfoot. I know that was off topic but it gives me hope. Soo thanks again Roger for that info, it helped.
