Uh, guys? I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but in the second photo, the axle-clamp is installed upside-down. The cross-brace between the legs of the clamp should be on top, thereby allowing better wrench access from beneath. It won't hurt anything performance-wise if you left it as is. |

Guess I'll include that as a note in the install article? Now I can see how it would have been easier, but the wrench that we used wasn't too difficult to get in there. At least we were consistent on both sides!
One thing I did notice is that I apparently have my sway bar bolted to a different set of holes in the frame. No problems thus far, but I'll move them this coming weekend when I've got it back on jackstands again. I would imagine this would become an issue if I were to do any sort of major suspension flexing/twisting. Notice the misalignment of the notch on the mounting plate (this is because of MY sway bar installation, NOT a design issue with the radius rods):

looks also in the second set of photos that you do not have the radius rod front bracket located correctly,
the bracket should be pushed back against the edge of the leaf spring, this keeps the bracket from moving back while under load

This is good. Then other people won't make the same mistakes.
glenn, I'll take a look at the rods this coming weekend when I'm adjusting the sway bar links. I see what you're saying and it makes complete sense. I'll take revised pics, too.

If I'm not mistaken, that second photo looking straight up at the spring clamp shows another condition other than not being positioned against the next leaf. That photo appears to have been taken before the nuts were tightened on the square U-bolts. So Eric had time afterwards to position it more precisely. The latest revision of my installation instructions says to position that clamp assembly about 1/8 to 3/16 inch forward of that next leaf. The end of that leaf will move fore & aft slightly as the suspension is loaded & unloaded. |

your correct
looks as if thought the nuts are not tight, but in the first set of pictures the threaded end of rod looks to be adjusted and he wrote that "they were consistent on both ends" so that would lead you to think that the spring clamps are in position ,
i finally had to weld my clamps right to the axle, keep truning on me for some reason, even after taking them off as suggested and grinding the area where bolt goes to get a little more squish out of them, still turned, ended up just welding,
just need to fix that DA*N vibration at 65 mph, need to angle shim more, only does when accelerating hard, so figure the axle pinion torqing down ward...
other then that these things have been great for cornerer and all around stablilty
