Ah, ya never know. I personally haven't had the greatest experience. My '91 Bronco (351W) had the E4OD die in the 80,000 mile range (no engine modifications...all stock). My '97 F-250 (7.3L Powerstroke) had the E4OD as well and it started developing a bad slip/shift between 1st and 2nd gear (it would redline before shifting) in the 60,000 mile range (all stock, as well). I traded that in on the Excursion before the inevitable happened. I don't really pound on my vehicles either...maybe there's something in the air here in Minnesota??
What engine did you have in your '96 F150?
