The information on this site is great. I read one of the messages posted by quietman and the Excursion looks awesome! I have a 7.3 PSD, 2 WD, and would like to lift it to the height of a stock 4 WD. Any suggestions, i.e. kits, 4wd parts, etc.???

Thanks,

Jigsaw

David,

Welcome to the club! I don't have any answers to your lift questions, hopefully some of the other folks can chime in with their experience.

Fabtech 4" for 2wd is your best bet. Check out my gallery as it has pix of my X with the Fabtech 4'' lift. The newer pix are with the six inch which I installed a couple of weeks ago. Email me and I will give you a more detailled account of my experiences.

well I did and I think mine is the best!!! he who has the biggest lift wins!

your going to love the fabtech, its easy to install and it rides great.. and you can see how good it looks.. but there are a few things you need to know to get the lift right. like you will need a f350 stock rear block plus the fabtech 3.5 in blocks to get the rear up to the right level, and you need to stay away from the fabtech shocks, they are not as good as the ranch ones.. look close at your truck and make sure you only want a 4" lift, because this is very adicting and you will want to rase it more and more., Im going to go with a dyna 60 axel and a 20" lift .lol so just make sure you get the right lift. if you go with the fabtech you should get the 6" pro lift, not the standard, its a better lift.. like I said callme if you have any questions, I put mine on in my driveway so I know more then I need to now.. good luck.

All your Excursions look great. Are there any lift kits less than four inches? Will the parts of a four wheel drive Excursion fit the 2 wd? Thanks for all your help.

I am not aware of anything smaller than four inch for the 2WD. They do exist but they are spring hanger kits and are for leaf springs so only 4WD. If you don't want a huge lift and you don't want to go with big tires, do the four inch. It should look fine and when you need new tires move up to 285's as they will fill the wheel well better and still give your truck a lifted look. if you go to six inch you can run 315(35's) tires without much rubbing. I currently have 305/70-16 tires (33's) and the only rubbing I get is on the front sway bar but it is very minimal.

Good luck and feel free free to ask myself or Brian any questions as I believe we are the only "regulars" here who have lifted two wheel drives.
