Greetings everyone, I have been reading the boards for a couple of weeks and finally registered. I have got some good information from the boards here, so thank you to everyone and keep up the good work!

Two weeks ago I got my fathers 2002 Limited Excursion 7.3L. A couple of things have come up. I have figured out the entertainment system for the most part. It has infrared headphones and plays the VCR soundtrack through the headphones. I have figured out how to split the audio into two zones. No matter what I do there is a headphone icon on the radio display. I assume it indicates the IR is sending out a signal. Is there any way to turn it off? Also, how do I get the system to put all the audio (VCR, AUX, AM/FM) through the IR system?

Second question. There is a guage mounted on the air filter box. It is supposed to indicate how much life is left on the air filter. The yellow line has not moved at all. I pulled the air filter and it was beyond dirty, it was VERY clogged. Pressing the button to reset did nothing. Are those filter life indicators reliable? I changed the filter regardless.

I moderate a fising board here in Sacramento, and I am familiar with posting pics on that site. When I figure out how to post on this site I will post some pics. Thanks again everyone.

Welcome to the board there Sactown!

If you were able to obtain the owners manual for the Excursion instructions on how to toggle the audio from headphones to speakers and vice versa is in there.

The filter minder has never moved on our 2002 or our Superduty but if you have a clogged/heavily dirty filter then get to changing it but you already knocked that out

When you get time add to your signiature some inforamtion about your 2002 X as it'll help us to know if your truck is stock, has mods, etc.

We'll be in Sac this late May for a couple weeks on business,I'll be co-organizing a Superduty/Excursion Get-together there if you'd like to be kept up to speed.

Thanks for the quick reply CHPMustang. I am trying to figure out how to change my profile, just cannot find the link! Any help?

BTW, I was at the CHP academy one day back in the 1980's when they were doing some testing on the Mustangs. Got to watch for a while. CHP wanted a new pursuit vehicle and tested several models including the 5.0 Mustang. The rest is history, but they are using Camaro's now.

To change your Profile go to the upper right hand corner and click "My Garage" you'll be able to change your profile, add info to your signiature, start your photo album/s,etc.

Yeap I'm a huge enthusiast/collector of CHP/Law Enforcement Mustangs I'm on my second one a 1990 model which was assigned to the Coalinga office for 15 months.

CHP is placing an order of (12) 2005 Mustangs for testing as they need to replace the coming out of service Camaros.

Finally.

Here is my "X" at Folsom Lake, outside of Sacramento. The dam is in the background, and behind the dam is Folsom Prison which is rather famous.

Alot of the time other photo hosting services won't allow you to link to their pics you'll have to add them to your SuperMotors photo album,if Eric stops by maybe he'll be able to assist you in getting setup

I really want to see the pics by the Dam,that's one of our favorite places to stop at when in town

The pic was taken at the low water ramp (called the Hobbie ramp) at Browns Ravine. It is located on the South side of the lake, the view is looking West.

When I get home I will resize the image.
