Well, I had to replace the pump this past weekend, I had posted a thread about a wierd noise, the pump decided to take a crap when I turned out of a parking lot on Saturday!! One nasty grinding noise, and then a "bump" and that was it...no more steering for the bus. I can tell you all one thing, If it wouldnt be for power steering the ol Ex would be a bear to drive!! I had to muscle it home, thank goodness it was only about 2 miles with only a couple of turns!! I didnt do bad on the price, it was 76.56 @ Auto Zone with a 23.00 core and Lifetime warranty. Installation was not too bad, but It took almost 3 hours to get the bottom pressure line off the old pump! Then the whole pulley issue sucked too, but we solved that with a impact and then a vice and a 1/2" drive breaker bar!! Other than that, its all in and good to go!!

The only question I had was, I tried to take the upper pressure hose off of the steering box itself, I got the flare nut off, but I could not get the line out of it at all!! Has anyone changed this line?? If so, how did you get the upper part of it out of the steering box? Anyone need one, I thought that was what was leaking but it was the pump going, so If anyone needs a pressure line, Ive got a brand new one from the factory!!
