Had to share this story...
This weekend on our way back to Minneapolis from North Dakota along I-94 (in ND), I couldn't believe my eyes. I was traveling East on I-94 and on the westbound side of the highway I saw a white quad-cab '92-97 style F250/F350 with a towstrap hooked up to it pulling a semi with trailer down the shoulder on I-94. I have no idea what happened or where they were headed but I wish I had my camera, I couldn't believe it! All I could think of were those (stupid) Chevrolet commercials where they show the "dramatization" of the vehicle pulling the semi. Here I saw the real thing and naturally it was a Ford!!

That's one I've never seen but sure a sight that would have to be captured on camera
Guess there was no #A wreckers in the area so they send out the service truck

I`ve seen it done....I`ve done it. Last year in June ( don`t know the date). I was heading in to Fox Valley on bypass RT 30 in Montgomery, Il. Came upon a traffic jam about a mile long in each way but ower lane was still moving slowly, the other was stopped. My lane was going around a jack-knifed KW with a 57' box that was blocking all the lanes in the gravel on the left not allowing the west bound to move. I got around the box and the driver was standing there and he yelled to see if I had a chain. I told him no but I do have a stap that can handle his rig( it`s a 100k construction lifting strap).
I pulled over to dig it out of the back. I handed it to him and asked him what he was going to use to yank him out and he just smiled at me.
I`m game. I pulled up in front , got some shackels and hooked up. Still no cops around or wreckers. By the way his front tires were off the ground and the box was full.
I was able to keep all of my tires on the pavement. Locked in to low, locked in the front axles( Warn Prem`s). As I got the strap snug the cops show up ,2 Montgomery, 1 Kendall Co. all shaking their heads. I thought they where going to stop me but didn`t. By the way my ol` lady is freaking now. I went for it.
My tires did slip and bounce alittle, even started to smoke( very sticky Nitto`s, 35`x14.5`s)but I was moving him. I kept in it and finnally got him on the road. The 4.88`s and Detroit Lockers front and back worked like a charm.
I unhooked as the cops where reading the trucker the riot act. One of the cops (Montg.) came up just shacking her head( she was cute) and said the X was a .........................I can`t repeat what she said
I wraped up and left like the Lone Ranger.....In cloud of smoke.........
I did see few chevy`s there with mouths just hangin`

Gotta do what ya gotta do, sometimes! Glad the cops didn't get too mad at you. That was a great story to read. I just hope I have a camera with me if I ever get the opportunity to pull a semi. I think the most important thing is the tow strap as long as it can support the weight you're pulling. I've seen plenty of them snap and they can be lethal! How wide is that tow strap you have? I've got a 3" strap that I carry around and that's usually plenty for the folks who get stuck in the snow around here.

It`s 6" X 50` long used for lifting on construction sites rated at over 100k. You can`t use this like a normal Snatch Strap. It doesn`t stretch. Just start out tight and throw a blanket or coat in the middle in case something did let lose. The woman was scared of that then anything else.
I always say I`m going to keep a camera in the truck and allways forget, but a friend of mine that is head of the Kane Co. K9 heard about it that day called me that nite. Not to many lifted X`s with a rack and a W/ a 35" X 14.5 on top.
