I'm thinking of buying a 2000 Excursion Limited 4WD PSD to tow my jeep on a trailer. I have a Dodge 1500 V-8 and does the job ok, but want something better.

Are there any issues with the 2000 Excursion? Anything I should look for? There is one for sale for $22,000 with 85,000 miles. That a decent price for one. Thanks ahead for the info.

DeathSpiral,

Welcome aboard!

No major issues with the 2000 Excursion. That price seems great. I have 141,000 miles on my 2000 PSD Excursion and there's plenty left. You'll have 15,000 miles of the 100K warranty left on it if you buy it, so that's a good start.

The only thing that was really an issue with the 2000's was loose turbo bolts. The fix was just a different set of bolts from Ford. Other than that, check out the additional information located below:

Well. I finally bought it! I am now an Excursion owner. :-) I lucked out on the deal as the guy alreay chipped it, had a brake controller already installed, upgraded slotted front rotors, and had an autostart installed in it. Can't wait to tow with it.

Later...
