My wife claims that she was rolling down the street at about 30 mph and she decided to step on the acclerator (3/4 down) to pass an slow driver and she hear a loud bang that seemed like a backfire. Do diesel engines backfire? Has anyone experienced this problem? She claims she felt something underneath.

Here's what I've done to the Ex. CCV MOD and Superchips programmer. I went from the 90 hp to 70 hp setting but I don't like the way it shifts. Also, the theft light keeps blinking on this setting. It seems that the 90 hp setting is better but the throttle is a bit too sensitive. Does anyone no the best setting to get more mpg?

Well, I found the answer to the alleged backfire. What my wife thought was a backfire was only the folded third seat falling into place after she accelerated. Sorry for posting that question.

Hahaha David, sorry, but I got a laugh out of that one. It sounds like something my wife would do, too.

But at least it was an easy fix after a few days of worry about catastrophic engine failure right around the corner
