Doesn't it depend on the year model, though? I understood that prior to 2001, the code was stickered to the kick-panel or somewhere underneath the dash.

It was stickered in the owner's manual, but nowhere else to my knowledge (I could be wrong).
HBJJAM, you have the owner's manual?
If you bring it to a dealer, I recommend Boyer Ford Trucks in Minneapolis off of 35W and Stinson.

I've read several threads in various forums on this subject. While a few claim to have found it stickered somewhere on their X, I've not read much that's consistent with other posts. Bottom line? Find a dealer's service depratment that you can actually deal with, then pay them to extract the code. Argue the point that you shouldn't have to pay a full hour's labor for something that takes just a few minutes. The mechanic will spend more time to locate your car in the lot, pull the car in the garage, put it back on the lot, and file the paperwork ... so maybe 1/2-hour of labor charge. |

Sometimes that's the one thing missing from the owner wallet when the Excursion is purchased used is the plastic keyless entry card with the code stamped on it.
Good to hear you got it resolved quickly
Have a super weekend

Amen! There will always be people posting dealer names when those folks felt they received poor service. In all fairness, and to steer people to reputable dealers, we ought to promote those dealers who we feel have treated us well.
My plug is for Bowditch Ford in Newport News, VA .... A+ in my book. |
