So, I finally decided to dump my Hummer and get an X.
I picked up my 2005 Eddie Bauer X PDS on Thursday. I am getting ready for a trip today, and noticed all kinds of Straw hanging out of the front end.
So I looked underneath, and then found that some animal packed all kinds of straw between the Radiator and Cooler... took me about an hour to unpack all kinds of straw, insulation... and boom... part of an animal carcass fell out on the drive... then I noticed a 16mm and 17 mm wrench up in the truck.
So, while I was cleaning everything up, I noticed that the rubber inlet was not attached to the intake... so I fastened that back up.
Then I noticed that the rear part of the Air Cleaner box does not really sit right. It only has the two clamps, one on the top, and one on the outmost side.
the inside rear of the air box does not really seem to fit right.... please take a look at yours and tell me if it seems to not sit right on the airbox.
God, I love American cars!!! |

Wow... it just keeps on getting better.
Now the Ford Dealership is going to buy back my 2005 Eddie X... after I tinted the Windows.. put a 2200.00 Nav system in it, and oh yeah... put a CB in it. The engine (PSD) wasnt prep'd right, and there may have been damage.
(remember the squirels nest)
Also the Rear Entertainment doesnt work.
So they found me another one that was close.. the only diference was that it had captains chairs in the second row. ( prefer a bench - but ok)
So I check the truck out, and guess what... the odometer is not working, and the overhead MPG/compass half the led's are burnt out.
Is it just me, or is God trying to tell me something.
I have been a GM guy for a long time, and got rid of my Hummer H2 for this - what I thought was a great truck... and I really want it bad!
Now, they cant find me what I want and...... I am truckless....
good thing its not raining and I can get out my '65 Cobra.....
Any ideas?

Drew, there is supposed to be a run of new X'x coming out of Kentucky in September--if they have not changed their minds---I'd lobby for a factory new. I'd also look for another dealer perhaps. I have had mine X for 5 years---never any problem--not a PSD>
Good luck

Well here is an update.... The Ford Dealer came and picked up my X, and gave me a check for the full amount.
I called Ford and Complained that I could not find another... So they are making me a new one... to my specs, and honoring the original employee pricing....
Should be here in 5 weeks....
Wahoooo.. fresh Eddie X off the line!

way cool !
What color and options ????
Did they give you a loaner - I think they should !!!!
The last two Ex's I had were the quad captains... and really liked it...
Never wanted the bench, but now that I have it I like it !
I also wasn't really sold on the two tone interior leather of the Eddie,
but my wife was and she's got a good eye for that decorating thing so I went with it...
Now I'm really starting to like it and noticing the white stitching really stands out !!!!
(for now, until my granddaughter "breaks" it in
good luck,
JB
on edit re the dvd system - didn't want it in the last two Ex's, but this one had it and WOW - tested it with the matrix dvd - pretty good sound system and separation !!!
even tried it with the wireless headphones and they suprised me - not Symphony quality - but suprisingly good !!!
now will have to get the wife to start driving on trips so I can recline and watch movies
