I have an o1 PSD, with 62000 on it. I have been reading into the steering problems here, and just
wondering if the Bump Steer/Memory Steer I have is common. My X is completely stock (no rear
sway bar etc) Im wondering if this is a completely different problem from these being known for
being steery. I just recently aired the tires to 60, and that has helped! |

First, welcome to the forum.
Second, you may want to check out the "5 Must Do" items at this link ...
http://www.supermotors.org/clubs/fordexcursions/articles/article_2/index.php
BTW, I highly recommend item #5 for obvious reasons. But seriously, read the article and see if it makes sense to you and how your X rides. If you are happy with the ride, then leave it alone.
FWIW, I did not develop the radius-rods to eliminate the wandering problem. That was just an added side effect ... and now its main selling point. My original goal was to smooth out the bumpiness / skittishness of the rear suspension just like a similar product did for a Landcruiser I had 27 years ago. |

Mark,
I live near you, I'm around this weekend if you'd be interested in test-driving my 2000 Excursion as a comparison. I have aftermarket shocks, rear sway bar, and radius rods. You can see if it behaves differently than yours. I also have 150,000 miles on my X. Drop me an e-mail (click on my name to the left and send me a message) and I'd be happy to meet up.
