Drivers door window rattles only when partially down. When fully up or fully down it doesn't rattle at all.
I have tried to hold the window, when partially down, while driving and there is still a ratlle, so I don't think it's the glass itself, but somewhere in the track.
Anyone run into this before? Hoping someone has a quick answer, otherwise I'll pull the panel and drive around to try & locate it. |

My driver's window rattles when its all the way up. I haven't tried driving with it partially down so couldn't say there, but if anyone knows how to tighten that thing down do tell.

After reading some of these posts, I'm definitely thinking the loose part (or parts) are down inside the door. I'll have to make a note to check in there sometime ..... unless the rattle gets to my nerves first, and causes me to dive in sooner. |

I also had a faint rattle that bugged the heck out of me in the rolled up mode. When positioning the window at different lower levels, it would go away. It drove me nuts! Somehow, just before reluctantly proceeding with some surgery on the door panel to reach the problem, I wound up washing the vehicle. I noticed that some of the weather stripping that the doors rest on, specially the seals on top - exhibited traces of transfered paint from the doors. In turn, upon closely inspecting the doors, I noticed faint black weather stripping markings...hmmm. Took some silicone spray and treated all the rubber sealing around the vehicle. Lo-and-behold, the rattle ceased!.
I have been regulary spraying the rubber and noticed a much improved overall silence in the cab. Just keep them lubricated and you might notice an improvement...maybe not. Anyway, just a thought for those that have a window rattle problem...it solved mine. |
