I want to rent a trailer to haul some brush over to the town recycling center.
I have never towed anything before, so....
1. I have a package in the glove compartment with a connector and some wires attached. I think that has to do with the tow hookup. What do I do with it, or even better, where can I go to get it done?
2. A tow ball, or hitch or whatever it's called. Where can I get one, and what size do I need? Are there different quality ones?
3. What should all this cost me (aside from the trailer rental cost, of course)? Wondering if I should just hire someone to take the brush away.
I am hoping that the guy at the U-Haul or wherever I go to rent the trailer can do it all.

If you are renting the trailer from U-Haul, they will be able to sell you a hitch and wiring adapter. The thing in the glove box is the trailer wire plug. This is a 7-pin plug. U-Haul's trailers typically have a 4-wire plug so they will sell you an adapter.
I would figure:
$5-8 for the adapter
$35-50 for the tow ball
They will tell you what size tow ball is needed for their trailer.
Have fun towing!

On our 2002 the U-Haul trailers connects right into the 4 wire plug that came with our Excursion's tow package.
U-Haul trailers accept a 2" ball which is available at the rental centers,THIS is what I use for U-Haul trailers which is also available at WallyWorld too..
