While mine's not a V10, I have 154K on my Excursion. The PSD is flawless still. In terms of the rest of the interior/exterior, it's holding up nicely. I have some chips in the paint that are going to need attention after this winter, the interior is getting a little beat up from the dog and hauling stuff, but otherwise there's not as many rattles as I would expect for a vehicle with 150K on it.

Check out my maintenance logs for the ful history on my X. I've been very diligent and entered all repairs with dates and mileage.

Mechanically, it's running like a champ. Yours should, too. 89K is nothing!

A sider who works for my buiilder has a 2001 F350 crew cab long bed 4x4 auto with the V10. We spoke a week ago and he said he's at 180,000 trouble free miles. He hasn't touched the ball joints, tranny, motor, or 4x4 system. The truck is totaly stock and tows little.

78000+ on my 00 X V-10, runs perfect. I replaced both hub assemblies (new generation hub is much beafier than OEM stock); Rear diff. cover seal that needs to be replaced again along with a total three locks that need to be replaced. Except for the hubs, all are cover with extended warrenty, the best $1300 you will spend, if availible.

Is the new gen hub a DIY project?? Maybe something to look into...how much $$ are we talking?

Not sure on the DIY meaning. You can visibly see the difference in the inner bearing size and what appeared to be a racer, at least double in thickness. By the way, it the same part # for GAS and PSD, no difference in parts even with the weight difference. Cost, I want to say around $300-$400 for the part. It was a pretty easy job and well worth the savings in labor, nearly $500. At the time there was no after market hub sold, now I don't know. I will look at my receipts and get a firm # on price. Both hubs have been replaced, one factory, one by me. Any questions let me know. I would definately look at replacement before a long trip.

03 XLT X 55,000 miles on the ODO bought it about 4 month ago no big issues, had to have torque converter rebuilt previous owner ragged it, but inside and out looks good. Replaced bald tires and lifted it 6" right now, but I intend on doing normal maintianance to make sure it last a long time. Loving every minute of driving above those compact cars especially the woman. Will make sure my X last a long time.
