I am ready to order from Landyot and need to know if there is an obvious way to tell if I have air-bag assist suspension? Also, I assume that adding the rear sway bar and the radius rods would aid me if God forbid I ever have a wreck as far as handling better and perhaps not rolling over, am I correct to assume this?

Thanks again everyone

Airbags are never stock items, so someone would have had to add them later...

crawl under the back of the ex and look for "balloons" on either top side of the rear axle...

Sway bars and radius rods are definetly handling improvement devices...

more so when cornering and when on off camber entrances and exits...

but as with anything you can defeat the purpose of their safety merits, but they will help !!!!!

Marcia,

Rear sway bars will reduce the "body roll" effect. You experience this when cornering quickly, turning into your driveway over the curb (you get that side-to-side roll), on entrance/exit ramps at higher speeds, etc.

Radius Rods will reduce rear-induced steering caused by axle wrap. This is typically experienced when travelling at highway speeds and you hit a significant bump in the road and it feels like your Excursion jolts to one side or another causing you to have to correct the steering.

The two combined will make for a much safer driving Excursion, but neither of the two will prevent a rollover. It would take significant speed and one very sharp turn to roll the Excursion over at which point the rear sway bar wouldn't stand a chance.
