Hello Guys,
I have been in search of the dreaded "Clunk Sound" that comes from under the front end during bumps.... I have been under my Ex 10 times looking for the culprate. Yesterday I noticed that the tie-rod ( I think thats the name) rotated forward & aft easily and made a clunk sound at each end of that rotation. So, I greased the ends of the that rod which was completely dry as well as the upper grease fitting on the ball joints... drove the truck and all has definitely improved. Is the "Clunk" gone??? I don't know yet. However, after seeing E. Long's video that will be my next focus if I hear it again.
Does anyone know how much I could expect to pay for that repair??? Both sides???

Replacing upper and lower ball joints on each side at the dealer will cost in the neighborhood of $600-$700, I believe. Someone who's had it done at the dealer can hopefully chime in on what they paid. It's a labor-intensive repair, so it's one of those things where the labor costs more than the parts do.
