1. Should the factory entertainment system include wireless headphones? Since I bought my X used, I don't know. I saw a pair for $30, but the advertiser mentioned that they are compatible with 2003 and new model expeditions and excursions. Will these work with my 2002?
2. Should it have a factory remote for the entertainment system?
3. The velcro straps on the middle seat no longer hold. Are there replacements or does anyone have a suggestion?
4. Will a 2005 grill fit my 2002?
Thanks for all your help.

David,
Can't answer the entertainment system questions but I can answer your grille question.
The 2005 grilles are taller and will not fit your 2002 Excursion unless you also purchase a 2005 bumper to accomodate the taller grille. There is a company making a modified 2005 grille that will fit 99-04 vehicles (on eBay).

David,
My new 2005 excursion came with 2 wireless headphones and a remote. A new one from Ford priced out at 60$ last month.

Yes, the rear entertainment system COMES with the wireless headphones. When I bought my X new from the dealer, I drove home without them.
I went straight back there the next day, and they gave me the accessory "box" that comes with the rear entertainment system....
it comes with
1) remote
2) two wireless headphones
3) batteries
Note sure how much they are to replace, but they're fancy. Of course, I've NEVER used mine, even though they've been hanging on my door handle for over a year!

David, If you have a 2002 w/ the DVD player, the headphones are wired not wireless. I went through the same confusion when I bought my 02 Ex new and the dealer kept telling me the headphones were wireless and every time they sent me the "correct" set they were wired. O3's may have been wireless but not the 02's. A wireless remote was included in the 02 setup from the factory. Casey |
