Ok, little confused (which is normal lately).

'00 X and I have the foglights on it, but they are not hooked up. The plug is there in bumper, but for some reason they are not plugged in. In addition, my headlight switch doesn't "pull out" like the one on my F350 to activate the fog lights.

So, am I missing something on the X? Does the X use the same "pull out" switch to activate the fogs as the trucks or are they different? If it's supposed to be the same, I guess I'll have to build some sort of relay to activate them cause I really don't feel like swappin switches.

Any ideas?

did you buy ir used, to my knowledge none of the 00 X had driving lights ( fogs ), may be an add on,

i added them to my 00 X and just put a relay in line and hooked them up to parking lights

I bought the X used.....just thought they had fogs standard.

Guess I'll just figure out a relay since I would like them to come on with the parking lights anyway.

You have any tips/instructions on what wires you tapped for yours?

Yep, that's correct -- 2000 model year Excursions did not come with fog lights, nor were they an option. 2001 was the first year that fog lights were offered for the X.

on mine i just took out the head light, turned on the parking lights and probed wires till i found the hot one, turn off lights to verify

then put that wire to coil of relay with a ground to complete that circut of relay, then ran power from battery to conctact side of relay, out of the realy to the lights,

sounds confusing, but most relays will have a schematic imprinted on side of plastic housing

Not only did my 2000 X come without foglights, the tabs/holes in the bumper to mount the brackets aren't there either. Mine must have been one of the early ones. But that's why the SD fogs that I bought are still not installed. I'll have to have some mounting brakets fabricated...... someday.
