I'm looking for advice on purchasing a Dog Barrier for my X? Right now its the metal bars vs the cloth webbing. I will be using it behing either the second or third seat.

Thanks in advance!

Hard to beieve, but we don't use one...

They learned I will scold them if they come past the third seat and they are so tender hearted they'd never dream of it!

Even the one trip we took where I took the third seat out... they stayed in the back...

Hey there, This is to funny. I was on e-bay looking at one last night. My two Wiemeraners are also trained to stay put but this program I was watching on tv gave some stat's on injuries from things flying around in the cabin. I thought about that for a short time and decided it would really hurt to take a 100lb dog in the back of the head going 60mph. I wasn't shure about the effects to the interior. I don't want wear spots in the headliner. Let me know if you find something you like so I can take a looksee.

The dog barrier I purchased would never hold our German Shepherd in an accident. The 3rd row seat would, though. I would imagine you'd need a more permanent setup to protect yourself from flying dogs in the case of an accident. Our dog would stay, but once we'd pull up to a drive-through window, he'd be behind the driver's seat begging for a treat from the McDonald's or Dairy Queen worker.

Thats a lot of fun though. My first Wiem used to go everywhere with me. Well, we didn't have kids yet so he had our undivided attention. He liked riding in the back of my truck and when I stopped at the drivethru for lunch I'd buy him a cheezeburger and have them throw it in the back. No we never spoiled our dogs!!

This is the same reason we are looking for the barrier. Before the kids the dogs were known at all sorts of drive-thru's accross town. Most started to stock dog treats. We just kept the seats down and they had the run of the back (two mover's blankets kept the carpet mostly hair free).

Funny E....The Sonic by us woudl offer treats to the dogs (and children) in the back

We encouraged them to skip that with us when they were pups just for that wet lick on the ear syndrome
