Howdy y'all,
My neighbor's kid put one in his ranger truck and has gotten a nice MPG improvement. Does anyone have one in their V10 or heard of someone who has ? I'm looking for more MPG while towing.
Perhaps a chip reprogrammer instead ?
Will accept any opinions good or bad.
Thanks,
Dan |

I just cannot see how putting a 3" thick peice of metal in between the TB and the Plenum can net ANY type of gain...other than added noise. (The main complaint)
Maybe if it was a carburetor that it went between or even throttle body injection but not our setup.
Ifyou want to increase you economy it will be a long , somewhat expensive road.
Forget performance mods...ie chips & tuners.
Check your tires for the proper weight...add 5lbs over. I run 60R/50F when using it for family hauling duties.
Drop weight. Clean out all the uneeded stuff.
Fluids...Keep 'em fresh and new. Replace fluids with KNOWN quality synthetics for reduced frictional losses.
Use your AC only when needed.
Easy on that throttle.

I run 70psi front and rear on my tires with my Rancho 9000's on 2 and 3, respectively. Cheapest increase in mileage I ever got!
I'd have to say an aftermarket air filter/intake and exhaust will also help with fuel economy in addition to monsta's above points.
