| Quote: | Who you going thru for the Brite Box as I'd like to upgrade the headlights on our truck as well |
I was going to get the Brite Box through Dieselsite: http://www.dieselsite.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=358
Then I was going to get the suvlights.com wiring harness to increase voltage: http://www.suvlights.com/index.php?cPath=24 . I'm not really sure which wiring harness I will need as the APC headlights use different lights now. However, they came with an adapter that everything plugged into. I'll giv suvlights.com a call when I'm ready to purchase to tell them what I have and see what they recommend. I'll definitely go with the dual battery harness, it's more a question of which socket type I need. The APCs use 9005 and 9006 style headlights. OEM Excursion lights are 9007's (2-in-1 style with both high/low beams).

You bet. APC headlight install, fog light wiring with OEM headlight/foglight switch, brite box, and suvlights.com wiring harness will be a series of articles.

| Quote: | Eric, nice lights. Where did you get them? Is that a big crack in your grille or just dirty? |
Bruce,
I found the headlights and amber corners for $135 on eBay a couple months ago. I just did a search on eBay and don't currently see this package deal available, so maybe I lucked out?
And yeah, that's just dirt on the grille.

Give Jerry a call at 1-800-620-4467 "GOSRacing" I know he carries some popular upgrade harnesses.

Thanks Bill. Just ordered the Brite Box and Wiring Harness from there. Hopefully it gets here in time for new year's weekend.

Thanks for the links Bill and Eric. What harness did you have to get for the 9005 and 9006 style lamps. I am about ready to pull the trigger on this mod.

I just got the harness for the 9007 style lamp. The reason being is that the APC headlights come with an adapter for the 9007 headlamps. So basically it will be:
9007 Wiring harness -> Brite Box -> APC headlights
Or in your case:
9007 Wiring harness -> APC headlights
You will not need a 9005/9006 harness for the APC's as it already has a 9007 to 9005/9006 adapter/harndess in the kit.

Thanks Eric, here is another question for you. Since the APC's have an intergated fog light/driving light, How difficult would it be to make those intergated fog lights Daytime Running Lights? Or would that be too much for the system? Just thinking, My mind has gone into overdrive on this project. LOL.
Thanks. Everyone has been a great help on this mod.

I'm not sure on the DRL issue. My X doesn't have DRL, however my new switch has a provision for it (but it doesn't move to that position). Maybe Bill can chime in on this?
