Is that do to spring fatigue? I just looked at mine. It looks to have the same clearance? My '01 Ex has 102k miles. |

Combination of spring fatigue and the springs just not having enough clearance to begin with. I don't think I've ever seen any more than 1" of clearance between the bumpstop and spring on my X.
I'm waiting to hit the 200K (38K to go!) mark before I upgrade to F250 springs, shocks, and a larger tire/wheel combo. By that point, I'll be riding on the front axle!

If you are the original owner of the Excursion and it's a 4x4 it'll have D codes.
Many local Ford Dealers will carry the various higher capacity springs but the price they'll probably sell at list of $164 each unless you can get a discount thru someone on the inside. Having the springs shipped will cost $$$ due to the weight and size.
Most Excursion owners choose U or V codes(I got the V's) but after 3 years I have to upgrade to W's due to the fact the 250 lb bumper I added has rested in the V's a little more than I anticipated.
Powerstrokeshop.com has the V codes New for $117 each, contact Chris there for shipping cost and details.
