Ok guys, It's time to replace a u-joint on the Ex. My plan is to replace all while I'm at it. Truck has 115K on it and from past experience you replace one joint, soon you'll be replacing others. So while I'm at it they all will get replaced. What u-joint is everyone is using, greaseable or non-greaseable? What manufacture has the most reliable? Excluding the high dollar u joints.
Thanks.

I have no preference on brand, but grease fittings are definitely nice to have.

What I'd like to point out is that BEFORE you dismantle the driveshaft, take a grease pen or other type of marker, and make marks on the shaft and companion parts so you are absolutely ceratin they go back in the same orientation as they came out. Too many times I've seen guys ... and I've been guilty of this, too ... take their driveshafts out, and reinstall with different part-to-part relationships. The result? Vibration! So, take a few extra moments and save yourself some rework later. Jus' my 2-cents worth ........

Couldnt agree more, when I changed the pinon seal, I marked everything, and it made the re-installation a breeze!

Looking at doing the same here

Is this something that can be done in a day? in your garage on the floor?

What specialty tools if any are needed? Pullers, etc?

They want a grand to do mine and i can get Moog joints for less then $225 for all 4

I'd take it somewhere so they can balance the thing. Seen it happen too many times that people replace U-joints when the shaft is bent or out of balance. I could see it wobbling when they were spinning it for a balance but it looked straight when you set it on the ground.
