Okay guys, I figured I would come to you with this one. My wife has been complaining (it is her X) about the X blowing black smoke. But, I told her that with a Diesel this is normal. Well, I drove it to work the other day and I decided to see what it was doing. I found that in order to get it to smoke you really had to romp on it......aka be in a big hurry to accelerate. Even brisk acceleration didn't produce smoke. So, I think that this is the normal diesel operation..... Any comments?!?!? Any "well, it might be..."?!?! Thanks guys

I'm like johnboy, can't get mine to smoke even with the "pedal to the metal!!

. Several of my friends have chips/tuners on their 7.3's and they [b]REALLY[/b] spew out the smoke. Haven't "chipped" mine yet. One day, One day soon................. hopefully
